Diagnostic and Specialist Access Insurance

Employees waiting for medical diagnostics and surgery can cost your company money, whether it be through decreased productivity, higher absenteeism, or even an increased number of disability claims. At any given time, 250,000 Canadians are receiving short (STD) and long-term disability (LTD) benefits. Employees waiting for medical care cost Canadian organizations billions of dollars each year in lost productivity, while increasing benefit plan costs. Between 1990 and 2001 total disability income payments have almost doubled from $2.4 billion to $4.8 billion.

Now, both you and your staff can have the piece of mind that if your staff become ill, they won’t be subjected to months of waiting for an MRI, a CT scan, or a consultation with a specialist.

Diagnostic and Specialist Access Insurance (DSAI) allows insured employees who are placed on a medical wait list greater than 21 days expedited access to diagnostic examinations (MRI’s and CT scans) and specialist consultations.
